Lee studied saxophone with Joe Viola at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and John Giordano and James Riggs at the University of North Texas. He was a Down Beat Magazine Scholarship winner in high school and has played professionally with Les Elgart, Bob Crosby, Buddy Morrow, Jerry Gray, Claude Gordon, Neal Hefti, Helen O’Connell, Ted Weems, Ray Price, Charlie Rich, Ike & Tina Turner, Gladys Knight & the Pips, the Bar-Kays, the Coasters, Vicki Carr, Tom Jones, Jerry Van Dyke, Ice Capades, Six Flags Over Texas, Harvey Anderson, Euell Box, Miss Fort Worth and Miss Texas Pageants, Fort Worth Rodeo, Moslah Shrine Circus and many more; performed in college with Thad Jones & Mel Lewis and in High School with Urbie Green, Joe Morello & Don Jacoby. He was a founding member of the SaxeTexas Saxophone Quartet which released the CD Riggs Rags recorded in 1974 and digitally remastered.
Lee performed professionally in a variety of venues around Anchorage, Alaska with my band AKSAXO JAZZ and has been a featured performer with local Alaska recording artists Tiffany Cooper, Voni K, Cat Coward and Kevin Barnett and national artists BJ Liederman and Norman Connors. Currently Lee appears in the Denver and mountain areas with AKSAXO JAZZ Solo, AKSAXO JAZZ Band and with other bandleaders such as Bruce Cole, Ann Dam-Johnson and Joe Bye.
Lee was Music Director at New Grace Christian Church in Anchorage for 11 years, leading and performing with a 8-person contemporary worship team.
